The remarkable video for "Lullaby" evokes insomnia with the tick of a clock and nightmares of spiders. According to Robert, the video was made "in a kind of Christopher Lee way".

A planned but unshot sequence included a real tarantula on Robert (an antidote was even brought, in case!). Instead, Robert Smith was swallowed by a giant foam spider, had an endoscopic camera put in his mouth, was suspended from the ceiling, and put in bed covered with spider webs. The other members appear wearing Napoleonic costumes, like ghosts from the past as part of a hallucination.

The video was shot in a south London warehouse in two days with a £80,000 budget.
