Based around the idea of a Doctor Who episode (though most of the relating footage was cut from the final video), "Fascination Street" was funded only by Elektra, not Polydor, as it was a US-only single.
Interestingly, two versions of the video were made; one was only shown a few times on
TV and doesn't feature any special layering effects, and shows clear close-ups of the whole band as well as a phone booth, a street lamp, a sign saying "Fascination Street". Below are captures from this version which isn't commercially available and could be considered as the "original version".
