The general concept for this video was making reference to The Cure as a young band by using 3 children miming the song, their shadows being an adult Robert Smith, Lol Tolhurst and Michael Dempsey (who agreed to come and appear in the video, years after he left the band).
The red-eyed effect was obtained by
painting their eyelids with fluorescent paint.
This idea could have been inspired by the "Village of the Damned" movie.
