As you probably already know Teenage Cancer Trust has partnered with Talenthouse to invite artists to create a unique vinyl sleeve inspired by a song. The Cure have selected the track 'Friday I’m In Love’ and are inviting creatives to interpret the song, however they please, via an original piece of seven inch artwork. A quick update with a couple of new pages from the Head Tour : Leeds 85 - Edinburgh 85.
13 December 2011
More from Darren's collection (thank you again) :
Norwich 81, Edinburgh 81, Aylesbury 81, Norwich 82,
Hamburg 80...
The Picture Tour program & a few early Cure buttons as well as the band's first gig review ever.
A page for the Morgan Studios where the band was recording the backing tracks for Faith was also added (thanks to JC for this).
09 December 2011
A rare interview from 1986 was added and there were not that many
that year.
Darren submitted lots of photos, ads, tickets, press cuttings (thank you so much !). So this is just a few for now : Paris 79, Birmingham 80, Birmingham 81... and also a valuable review of the concert in Paris in 1981 where we learn that the last 3 shows of that tour were cancelled (no wonder we can't find anything on these). Paris ended up being the final night of the Picture Tour in France.
Katowice 96 from Polish Tv was also added on the Tv appearances.
I'll try to be more consistent with the youtube channel...
Special thanks once more to Autumn & JC.
06 December 2011
The Bestival live cd was added to the discography. Happy listening !
28 November 2011
More Reflections shows (the current affairs !)
23 November 2011
A few pages were added : Reading 81 (thanks JC), Minneapolis 85, Cleveland 85 (will work on the following tours later).... Layouts were fixed as well as they didn't appear the way they were supposed to on some computers.
The Cure's live equipment page was updated too (finally found some info concerning drums) and redesigned for a better browsing through the years. I hope it's more convenient like this.
Also updated were the chart figures for the albums and singles (now including those from The Netherlands - thank you for researching this Maarten !).
Enjoy the final Reflections performances (lucky you) !
20 November 2011
Slowly recovering from the concert in London... Still looking for the right words. It was just f****** amazing. I thought the band sounded immense. I'm still shocked how perfect the show was. And it was really strange to see three hours just flying so fast... Saw Justin Jones from And Also The Trees in the venue. Great to talk again Maarten & Margitt, even if it was brief. My apologies for missing old friends and very special thanks to JC !
21 August 2011
French Tv Show rehearsals from January 1986 & Behind the scenes at another French Tv appearance the same week.
20 August 2011
The Beach Party Tour was now added including some new pictures as well. The main 1986 were updated too with more info and photos here and there... Orange soundcheck or the infamous Champs Elysées appearance (I recall seeing this one on TV at the time and going 'what ?' and laughing).
19 August 2011
A small update : Picture Tour UK 1981 & correcting language mistakes from a few interviews I translated back into English (my apologies for this -it's not my mother tongue).
13 August 2011
Finally worked on the North American
Top Tour. And on the rest of the 1985 Head Tour. Hopefully I'll find more pictures for this one later.
Thanks to cure-concerts.de
28 July 2011
1985 :
Festivals & UK tour, Motel de Founex madness,,
Hammersmith Odeon rehearsals, Musée Grévin.
A couple of 83 & 84 shows were also added.
23 July 2011
New live pictures : Hamburg oct 80, Hamburg 81.
21 July 2011
Back with old stuff again. More concert photos and pages were added : Wellington jam party 81, Edinburgh nov 81, Norwich 82, Leicester 82, Deinze 82, Strasbourg 82, Glasgow 84, Lille 84, Utrecht 84 ... Photos are credited when I know where they come from.
The Cure played a concert on 02 August 1981 in Palmerston North (NZ). This show was never listed anywhere before.
It's amazing to still find unheard of dates.
Thanks to July, Julia and Yves Bettini.
08 June 2011
After the amazing Reflections shows, a proper 2011 page was added. The live equipment page was also updated with the gear used for the event.
13 May 2011
More tours and pictures to browse through : Summer '83 -The Top Tour. I also added some song statistics for those tours. The main 1983 & 1984 pages include some new general info. I feel like the site is improving and I hope it really does... You're welcome to submit photos for the live pages to build up. Thank you.
12 May 2011
Reworked 1982 section and concerts page added (focusing on pictures and comments only). My goal doesn't consist in having all the setlists available but it rather consists in illustrating those pages, to try to make them interesting to browse through.
22 April 2011
Happy birthday RS (a bit late... I know) !

It was brought to my attention that a very rare and unheard of Cure video (in the pre-internet days at least) didn't get as much exposure as it should have.
Filmed by Charles Libin + Paul Cameron in NYC Hurrah's on April 17th 1980 ! Thanks to the filmer who shared this great footage : Watch it !
11 October 2010
The Cure's recorded songs and mixes list was updated with a few I've forgotten: A Forest 7" mix, Pirate Ships demo, Tape 2007, The Hanging Garden single mix. Thanks to cure-fan and bomber1978.
Improvised lyrics from Let's Go To Bed in Gent 1996 were added. Thanks to Steve for helping !

14 September 2010
A quick update with some new TV appearances (mostly post-2000 ones). To my knowledge, just a few from 1996 & 2000 are missing now. But you never know.
26 July 2010 - A lot of new TV appearances were added ! Some of them, I had no idea they existed. We're getting closer to an exhaustive list (a few appearances are still missing but are hopefully on their way).
All the Cure's studio recording sessions were also added. It seems people like that kind of summed up pages. More convenient if you don't have time to browse through the site. And while being there, I made a radio sessions page.
I also set up a youtube page, I'll try to post interesting things before it gets closed by a super power (that's how it works, I think) . http://www.youtube.com/user/impressionofsounds
Lastest video is A Forest live from London Royal Albert Hall 1986 (including a much better sounding source than the original sound track).
Have great holidays if you take some !
01 June 2010 - Happy birthday Simon !
24 May 2010
it's strange, I redesigned this site a while back with the Disintegration remaster in mind... and now that it's getting released the 1989 section isn't even complete. Well, it is now (with new pictures, new extra lyrics transcripts) :
The Prayer Tour Europe
The Prayer Tour North-America
Videomusic interview 1989 TV
MTV A Reflection 1989
To celebrate the remaster and remembering, here's the TV report
on Roma 1989 for you to download :
From Megaupload -or- from Sendspace.
Hope you'll enjoy. Now the hunt for the remaster pack in the shops begins...
18 May 2010
Eight appearances Tour 1981 added.
The Extras section was revamped : new Banshees TV screens, the Cure's equipment 1978-2008 on stage...
US Dream Tour comments were also added.
14 May 2010
The official site for the Disintegration remaster is up. Lots of extra rarities (not available on cd) and streaming live to come. Amazing.
11 May 2010
Third part of the Picture Tour 1981 is up.
I know, the charts aren't particulary meaningful with a band like the Cure, but it's interesting to look at the figures anyway. You can see which albums revealed the group in a certain country. And the results are quite different. Seventeen Seconds sold a LOT in New Zealand in 1980. Faith entered at #1 there ! For France it was the Head on the Door (after honorable success of Japanese Whispers & The Top), for other countries Disintegration or Wish...
Charts albums - charts albums (by country)
Charts singles - charts singles (by country)
More TV appearances and other interesting things for musicians (I hope) to come.
29 April 2010
1982 Australian Countdown TV interview.
1981 UK Tour. 1981 European Tour.
21April 2010
Happy birthday to Robert Smith ! Best wishes of happiness.
To my amazement, a very small village in Burgundy (France) is called "Cure" ! Can you believe it ? I had no idea of its existence until I saw the sign !
About 20 new TV appearances were added (thanks to Ariel, Anna & my archives). We're getting closer to 400.
Maybe someday a few old ones, long lost and forgotten (Australia 1981/83, Tapage Nocturne 85 ?) will resurface. Who knows.
Faith extra lyrics Stuttgart 92 and Forever lyrics in Lyon 92 were also added.
Enjoy partying if you attend a meeting anywhere in the world !
31 March 2010
The "proper" concerts section is back. As I knew it would be someday. So far only 1979 & 1980 but some rare setlists and some new photos here and there are included. The rest is coming... it's a lot of work !
A main interviews page was also added.
18 March 2010
Motivation seems to be back to work on the live stuff. New photos, comments... It might become a part of something bigger again : live 1979 - live 1979 in support of TIB.
22 February 2010
Many additions (pics, info, comments) to the Dream Tour 2000 (in Europe) page. The same will be done for the US /Australian leg of this tour later.
21 February 2010
A few more RS quotes about inspirations I missed before (thanks Anna) : A Short Term Effect, To Wish Impossible Things, Want, Club America, This Is A Lie, Mint Car, Wrong Number, Watching Me Fall, Maybe Someday, Cut Here. I also found The Lovecats one again.
New TV appearances (thanks to Macwo) : TOTP Lovecats (#2), Villa Tempo 84, New Zealand TV 85 ("Rabbit ?").
15 January 2010
An interview of Robert Smith by Janice Long from May 1984. Interesting part about the puppets (maybe an influence on the Close To Me video the following year ?).
An update for the setlist completists with the rare Hollywood 1984 at the old site.
Please note that the correct setlist for San Francisco 25 Oct 1984 is also there (the fragment on the common digital bootleg including 100 Years, Give Me It, Piggy In The Mirror and Caterpillar comes from Glasgow 25 Aug 1984 and is nowhere to be found on the original bootleg tape). For more revised information from that tour check The Top Tour USA.
12 December 2009
Aug-Oct 1980 setlists including the mysterious 24-10-80.
05 December 2009
March-July 1980 setlists added.
I believe the 1979-84 setlist info you can find online still includes some mistakes : for exemple Glasgow 05-05-80 doesn't exist as a "genuine bootleg". So here are my own researches.
04 December 2009
1979 setlists from bootlegs and press reviews + some rare old pictures & trivia (So What live ?) were added : Mar-Aug 79 - Aug-Dec 79. All these are linked in the main 1979 pages ("setlists and more") as well.
19November 2009
Rock n Roll Alternative Show 1983 radio interview transcript.
With a lot on rare info on the Glove.
16 November 2009
A few new TV appearances :
MTV News 92 - MTV Latin 97 - Azteca 2004. You can also browse through the TV pages if you like (just like the old days, without opening new windows). The entire list is still accessible from the index page.
15 November 2009
Tonight is the 22th anniversary of my first Cure concert. I was only 13 and that was obviously the greatest event of my life back then. I recall this strange and wonderful impression of actually seeing the group in real (somewhere in the front rows -I don't know how I survived) as opposed to flat pictures and posters on my wall...

So here's a couple of TV interview transcripts from that era :
Les Enfants Du Rock in France : funny, unmanageable band.
Kisses from the Cure in Belgium : about wearing black clothes...
08 October 2009
The Top Tour 1984 in North America. A few improvised lyrics on Faith/Forever transcripts.
More inspiration source - Six Different Ways : We've never done a waltz. We've never done anything in a waltz time. It's actually a 6/8 time which is why that was called "Six". And I used to write down some letters saying : "this is the six different lies I've told today". (1985 interview, Baktabak Records)
The Cure.com was updated with info on the Disintegration remaster and more !
09September 2009
US TV News 1987 (thanks JC)
& an interview from an unkown UK magazine 1987 (the questions were most probably written by children).
12 August 2009
Back with something very useful and interesting : 1977-2008 Cure songs inspirations were added in the Extras - More RS quotes as soon as I find the references.
Full Rock On 1981 radio interview transcript now available.
A couple of TV : CNN, Paris 2008 (thanks Maarten).
22 April 2009
