A bit of a strange night but a fantastic concert. Robert was drunk and there
was a rumor that he actually fell on stage at some point (this was even
part of the questions in the Cure's newsletter). Why Can't I Be You was
introduced as "Soft white bread inside my head" and included some
lines from 10:15 on the extended part. Bits of Accuracy were played before
TIB. Last but not least, The Same Deep Water As You had some different and
excellent bass VI solos and the show ended with an extended version of Untitled
including extra lyrics.

M was played for the second time of the tour. The Cure's singer declared
it would be nice if the people shouting would pay tribute to the rest of
the band as well. Before concluding "Anyway my name's not really Robert
(French pronunciation)". Faith's extra lyrics theme was desire : "I
can make you mine".

Brest, Parc Penfeld
Another show with some kind of slight crazyness in the air. Some people
reported that Robert actually had an argument with somebody in the front
rows ! The end of Why Can't I Be You turned into a joke with Boris and Roger
going on and on with Robert Smith repeating several times "Simply elegant"
hoping they were going to stop at last. 10.15 Saturday Night (no bass solo)
and Killing An Arab were finally played on this tour. And Faith was shortened
to a ten minutes (but excellent) version. The extra lyrics refered to Forever
lines circa 1984 ("we can dance or talk it over").

Caen, Parc des Expositions
Lullaby was performed in its 12" remix version again (see Valencia
June 23rd) for some reason. That time, the whole intro was extended (with
percussions and additional keyboards bits) which would evolve into the regular
version after a long while. The degree of drunkness may have been a factor.
The band ended with 10:15 and Killing An Arab.

Paris, Bercy
Back to a regular setlist. A very short version of Faith (8 minutes) closed
the concert and it didn't include the usual extra lyrics... Reports said
Robert actually left the stage, being too emotional to carry on singing.
The soundcheck consisted in One Hundred Years and Push.

One of the best shows of the tour. Another highlight with rare tracks such
as Catch, The Holy Hour, The Drowning Man, All Cats Are Grey, M, Fire In
Cairo. Some improvised lyrics on Pictures Of You. Robert announced (in French),
The Holy Hour for the souvenir, as he thought that was the last time they
would play in Paris ("Et maintenant, parce que je crois que c'est la
derniere fois que nous jouons à Paris, c'est pour le souvenir, this is called
The Holy Hour").
11th
Reims, Parc des Expositions
The concert was a bit shortened because some in the band were feeling sick.
Robert Smith even announced this to the audience in French : "Je suis
très malade... and so is Porl". Yet, they played for two hours and
Robert's voice was as good as usual despite all of this.

Dublin, R.D.S. Simmonscourt
Regular setlist with Faith to finish.

Piggy In The Mirror was dedicated to the people who came the previous day.
The first change of the night on the set list. Robert Smith then announced
Last Dance instead of Catch... Probably misread the set list. On the last
encore, he didn't bother anymore with titles, telling the crowd : "you
have to guess" (more convenient). The other rare track of the night
was M.
18th
Glasgow, S.E.C.C
Tonight was only two hours long : main set + two encores.
20th
Birmingham, N.E.C
Regular set list with Faith. Before Disintegration, Robert Smith played
the riff from Isolation by Joy Division on his 6-strings bass. He also improvised
lyrics on Untitled and announced that the songs "we half know will
be tomorrow".

Birmingham, N.E.C
Long and different show : Catch, Cold, The Holy Hour, The Figurehead, The
Drowning Man, All Cats Are Grey, M. The encores weren't as slick as the
main set. Maybe the alcohol started to be too effective by then. Some lyrics
were improvised on The Holy Hour. Fire In Cairo was the complete version
of the song, not just an extract : for the first time on the tour, all the
band joined Robert Smith on the song. Maybe that was even a surprise for
him.
22nd
London, Wembley Arena
Regular set list with a heart-breaking version of Faith : "you would
die for me / you would die for me / and now you're gone".
23rd
London, Wembley Arena
Robert pointed out after In Between Days : "It's so simple to remember
the words and I can never ever can !" But this would make more sense
talking about Play For Today which included some improvised lyrics, not
just some inverted words. On this same song, the band actually tried to
play a trick to Boris : "We were stupid enough to think Boris wouldn't
be able to play that fast..."
24th
London, Wembley Arena
Possibly the longest concert given by the band (approximately 200 minutes
in a row). One Hundred Years included some improvised lyrics and Faith was
dedicated to Shelleyan Orphan (the opening act) which Robert qualified of
"fucking brilliant". Some songs were played for the first time
of the whole tour (Shake Dog Shake, Siamese Twins, 100 Years). At the end
of the show, Robert Smith thanked everybody for all these years... Absolutely
certain they wouldn't go on stage again.
