The
Ruts supported the Cure for this concert. Which got many people (including
journalists) wondering who had the idea for such a bill. Lol blamed it on
the promoters. This show was decisive, as it was the first time they were
playing in London since the release of the album. Lots of friends came to
see them. Among those were Simon Gallup, Porl Thompson, Frank Bell... And
Robert Smith finally gave up playing on his cheap Top 20 guitar. He was playing
on the Fender Jazzmaster by now. Boys Don't Cry was certainly in the setlist that
night but it doesn't appear on bootleg.
