10:15 SATURDAY NIGHT (extended)
The Cure was part of an open air festival (part of the Carnival taking place in town). Later, the "Mod Revival" bill would inspire Robert Smith the idea and lyrics for Jumping Someone Else's Train. Fire In Cairo was dedicated "to God" that night (probably a bit of the usual irony) while Meathook was for Porl Thompson (certainly in rememberance of the Easy Cure days). The band performed under the rain and Robert sang the opening line of "Singing In The Rain" during the encores.
