MAY
18th
Atlanta, Lakewood Amphitheatre
Robert forgot
Play For Today's lyrics
but a good start for this North American tour : The Kiss
and Faith to finish. The end of All Cats Are Grey was a funny and embarrassing
moment : Roger hit the wrong note on keyboards and Robert came by to play
the correct one.
20th
West Palm Beach, Mars Music Amphitheatre
A couple of rarities on the main set : Where The Birds Always Sing, If Only Tonight We Could Sleep. Lovesong was also added to the repertoire since it's always been a classic in America.
22th
New Orleans, Saenger Theatre
The venue was a small theatre with many die hards fans in the audience so the band
played many of the rarities. Fascination Street got an extended intro due to a technical problem on bass. The guitars filled up
the space and sounded great ! One verse on the Figurehead was also improvised.
23rd
New Orleans, Saenger Theatre
More of a conventional setlist but including Shiver And Shake, The Last Day of Summer, The Kiss... Although the encores included the very rare Drowning Man. This concert was a bit particular as it only included two songs off Disintegration. But the other songs were played on the first night.
24th
The Woodlands, Mitchell Pavilion
Strictly a typical Dream Tour setlist which for the record, only had Just Like Heaven off Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me played. The group ended on Faith.
25th
Dallas, Starplex Amphitheatre
Standard main set but followed by the rarely given
four encores including the Pornography era encore and Faith at the end the
concert again.
27th
Las Vegas, The Joint
A 2 000 people capacity club. Therefore some missing visual equipment (slides...)
since the place was too small for these. They would also dropped any song
involving two keyboards (Trust) due to lack of space. After the show, the
band stayed in a casino and gambled a bit. Some Cure chips were especially
made for their coming to the city !
28th
Irvine, Meadows Amphitheatre
Typical Dream Tour set list again, just replacing M with Lovesong.
2 Late lyrics were sung at the end of Faith which closed the night.
30th
Los Angeles, Greek Theatre
Rare playings of The Figurehead and Shiver And Shake. The group also
tried Jupiter Crash for the first time of the year on stage. Everybody was
in good spirit, even Robert Smith, who was tackled by a fan during A Forest !
31st
Los Angeles, Greek Theatre
The second show was quite exceptionnal with many of the less played songs : Snakepit,
The Kiss, Siamese Twins, Cold, Like Cockatoos, Pornography... That last song included an improvised verse. The show was attended by Trent Reznor.
JUNE
01st
San Diego, SDUS Open Air Theatre
Standard setlist with part of the Faith era encore. As it was Simon Gallup's
birthday, Robert sang Happy Birthday to him at the end of 10:15 Saturday
Night.
02nd
Mountain View, Shoreline Amphitheatre
Standard setlist with The Kiss in the main set. Quite of an "automatic
mode" concert for the band but still a good one. It was webcast online.
04th
Salt Lake City, The E Center
Best American audience they've got on that tour according to Robert despite
a poor attendance. A Night Like This was added to the setlist there and
they played Jupiter Crash again. Tonight's encores also included the Pornography
era one and the Disintegration era one with The Same Deep Water As You.
05th
Denver, Fiddler's Green
Unfortunately Robert Smith had some problems with his voice that night. Struggling during the main set and kind of losing it during the encores, on Disintegration (a difficult song to sing). That led to improvising a whole verse, more or less whispering, as Robert stopped singing for a while. To make the night special anyway, the group played The Drowning Man (only the second time of the tour) which was introduced as "A song that we never play". Play For Today also included an improvised verse.
07th
Maryland Heights, Riverport Amphitheatre
A couple of rare tracks on the main set : Snakepit, Siamese Twins. And then Jupiter Crash and the Pornography encore. For some reason, some shows were routine setlist wise while others were different.
09th
Tinley Park, New World Music Theatre
A couple of rare tracks on the main set again : Like Cockatoos, The Kiss. The Faith & Pornography encores were often interchanged. So that night was the Faith encore. The rest included Disintegration songs with The Same Deep Water As You getting better and better.
10th
Clarkston, Pine Knob Music Amphitheatre
Pretty good show with a few different songs on the main set including the pretty rare If Only Tonight We Could Sleep and The Figurehead in the encores.
12th
Toronto, Molson Amphitheatre
Standard Dream Tour setlist. Faith's extra lyrics were longer than usual. They seemed to be about waiting for a perfect moment.
14th
Mansfield, Tweeter Center
Pretty much a "Pornography" night : A Strange Day replacing the
usual Shake Dog Shake, One Hundred Years, Cold, Figurehead, Pornography...
Five songs off the album.
16th
Holmdel, PNC Center
Probably the best show of the final week on stage including A Night Like
This and Like Cockatoos as well as Disintegration/Pornography song encores. The Same Deep Water As You had a different verse.
17th
Columbia, Merriweather Post Pavilion
Standard setlist and finishing on Boys Don't Cry, 10:15 Saturday Night, Killing An Arab (like often on this tour).
18th
Camden, The E Center
Shake Dog Shake was dropped again in favor of A Strange Day. The other rare songs on the set were Snakepit & Shiver And Shake. One of the
few shows that didn't include End. The Pornography encore was played once
more but for the final time.
20th
Wantaugh, Jones Beach Arena
No major surprises really for the last show ever in America. All Cats Are
Grey included additional lines and Faith's extra lyrics refered to the end
of the band. Robert also declared they didn't know what they were going
to play for the last encore ("normally we're like really professional
to this point"), improvised a bit of Boys Don't Cry and sang "10:15
on a Tuesday Night".
