Metronome Musik released the German copies (0030.281). Irish pressings came out on red Polydor cover (FICS 10). Some UK copies came with a "radiophonic" cover design. The "single mix" consists in the same version as on the Seventeen Seconds album except that all the intro is skipped. |

The single was also released in New Zealand by Stunn Records with the same songs and picture sleeve (BFA 004) although some copies were distributed with EMI sleeves. 7 Records distributed the promo 7", the b side included songs by other artists (The Tourist & Midnight Oil). |

A: A Forest. B: Another Journey By Train. Four different 12" came out in Australia, none of them includes a picture sleeve. Two of them were issued on green vinyl (MSD 421 & ESP 103) and the others on black vinyl (same catalogue numbers). The green vinyl copies whose catalogue number are ESP 103 feature "The Final Sound" before "A Forest" without stating the song on the labels. |

The Spanish copy has the same picture on both sides of the sleeve and features the translation "Charlotte a veces". CBS released the Australian pressing in 1982 (CURE 7001) and included some copies of the single packaged with the Pornography album. The 12" includes "Faith (recorded live)" as bonus on the b side (Fiction Records : FICSX 14). The picture sleeve is actually a blurred picture of Mary Poole supplied by Robert Smith. Later, another picture from the same day will be used for the Pictures Of You's cover. |
