The Glove was formed by Robert Smith and Steve Severin, who had the project to make a record
together since 1979. Robert Smith sang on two songs from the album but because of its exclusive
contract with Fiction Records, a guest singer was found: Jeanette Landray (at the time, girlfriend of
Budgie from the Banshees).

The album was also released in Japan (Polydor 28MM 0315) and in Europe. It was only released in
1990 in America by Rough Trade (on blue vinyl, RUS 85-1, cassette RUS 85-4). The cd was released in Europe
(Polydor 815019-2), in Japan (Polydor POCP-1885) and in the US in 1990 (RUS 85-2). It includes b sides
from the singles and the extended remix of Like An Animal from the 12" as bonus tracks.

2CD Deluxe Edition (August 2006) gives CD1: the 10 tracks from the album + The Man From Nowhere, Mouth to
Mouth, Punish me With Kisses (remix), Like An Animal (12" Club What Club ? remix) - CD2 (rarities): all 10 tracks
from the album sung by Robert Smith + The Man From Nowhere (alt mix), Mouth To Mouth (RS vocal), Opened

Recorded for the John Peel Sessions show on BBC radio 1 on 04 december 1978
This 12" was the first edition of many other future releases from that Peel Session. It was also
released on cd in 1988 with a slightly different cover (all grey) (SFPSCD050).
Stranger Than Fiction was a compilation celebrating the 10th anniversary of Fiction Records. It includes
the 1987 unreleased track "To The Sky" by The Cure amongst other familiar releases from the label
(I Dig You by Cult Hero, I Want To Be A Tree by Tim Pope)...
