the-cure.com - 13th July 1996

The official band site (the-cure.com by then) was launched on the 13th of July 1996. Roger O'Donnell did the design, him and Robert would maintain the site, updating it, deciding what to add etc... The "Cure's house", as it was called, offered plenty of different rooms to stop by. You were exploring the house where they recorded Wild Mood Swings (in Bath) after all.

The main floor included the Kitchen (where you would have access to everything you wanted to know about the tour they were doing, introducing the staff, giving details about equipment, what they have been up to, and some actual -and weird- recipes from Robert himself !), the Library giving demos to listen to, guitar tabs, photos, lyrics, biography...

A chatroom was also included (the Conservatory) as well as a Bathroom for people to leave messages to the band. The Lounge gave videos and audio live recording while the Dungeon was a little prison for who ever the band didn't like for whatever reason, at the time Lol was a permanent resident, the German football team was once there (because of the Euro'96).

Upstairs, you would encounter each member's room. Putting up whatever they wanted to. Robert had lots of quotes (from writers etc...) and informations about his home equipment, Roger listed people he liked (Bjork, Smashing Pumpkins, Zappa, Erbie Hancock, Robert de Niro...). Jason had a note introducing himself (still).
