This website has to do with maintaining a passion for a band and remaining
faithful. Nothing less ! It also deals with the "elementary"
and detailed parts of the Cure's history.
So this project started years and years ago... sometime in the early 90's
I think. Reflecting the whole experience of collecting, analysing, understanding
and living ! And because experience provides knowledge, the results were
kept on papers here and there. I don't think I ever had the ambition to
do a book or anything serious (too much hassle I suppose) but as my interest
in graphic design grew, I decided to combine my notes with a website I
would design myself. It's done now, but I guess it will never be finished
as the content is almost always expanding. And thank you very much, Lorelle,
for hosting this !
Please note that the TV section is missing some appearences (especially
those in recent years). Feel free to help ! The only thing I didn't research
myself are the concert dates from 1976 and 1977 as well as some rarely
seen dates from 1979 and 1980. They were taken from the great "Clinical
Prescriptions" book (published by La Voix Du Silence). All the rest
on concerts are obviously my own commentaries ! Those pages sometimes
include improvised lyrics transcriptions I also did (and some are quite
different to other online transcripts !).
About myself, there's not much to reveal here, I live in Paris and I am
a French man in my early thirties. I saw the Cure live for the first time
in 1987. My favorite artists include Dali, Picasso, Magritte, Miro, Bacon,
Matta, Toulouse-Lautrec, Man Ray, Atget, Cassandre... My favorite movie
is probably Mulholland Drive (D. Lynch). The most influential authors
I came across are Cioran & Baudelaire. If that's not enough, you can
have a glance at my other site : http://www.innerstatic.com
This site isn't finished yet but it includes my personal photography and
I guess I'll put online my own music as well one day !
